But, we Aussies are a resilient lot if nothing else, so, after contemplating how we can make lemonade when life serves us lemons, we came up with the following notion.  Here’s the draft of our press release, let us know what you think:

Campbell Chauffeured Limousines of Brisbane announces an exciting new line of business in Limousine Hire that will ensure we continue to meet our valued client’s expectations no matter what Mother Nature throws at us.

Effective immediately, Campbell Chauffeured Limousines will begin to acquire a fleet of luxury, high-end amphibious vehicles.  Better known by their military designation, DUKW (popularly pronounced “duck”) it is a six-wheel-drive amphibious truck that was designed by General Motors Corporation during World War II for transporting goods and troops over land and water and for use approaching and crossing beaches in amphibious attacks.

In addition, Campbell Chauffeured Limousines is working with local law enforcement officials on an agreement that would keep the vehicles’ guns in place and allow our chauffeurs (who will also be titled “Captains” in the future) to ensure clear “sailing” as they expertly navigate customers through Brisbane traffic and to their destination on time and safely.
